Rehabbers Club Monthly Meeting Announcement

-- A Visit to Hyde Park --
9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, July 21

Join the Rehabbers Club this Saturday at 9:30-11:30
for a look at some exciting work in Hyde Park!
We will be meeting at the North St. Louis YouthBuild office.

When: 9:30-11:30
Address: 3950 North 19th Street (Corner of 19th and Newhouse)
Google Map: http://tinylink.com/?RclUrwUBN3

The Agenda:
Under the guidance of Brian Marston, North St. Louis YouthBuild
is helping young residents learn about the construction trade as they
renovate a former church schoolhouse into apartments.
Brian will talk about the YouthBuild program and you will get a chance
to view the historic building tucked snugly behind the Friedens Church.
There are no floors yet, so no walking inside,
but Brian will have photos so you can see the starting point!

After this portion is done, ReVitalize St. Louis board member and
historic building guru Michael Allen will take you on a brief
walking tour (around the park past wonderful historic row houses,
the Hyde Park fire substation, and a beautiful but neglected three story
victorian style commercial building that will soon be under renovation)
to the remains of the formerly majestic North St. Louis Turnverein.

Check out Michael's photos of this building before several fires,
an ice storm, and a wind storm reduced it to its current state.

This is a great opportunity to see the Hyde Park neighborhood
through the eyes of people who are working to save its many historic buildings.

Don't miss this meeting!
